I believe in the value of arts education to inspire our students to be more creative problem solvers and develop a passion for learning and expression. I've personally seen the arts revive students’ engagement in their education and it encourages them to further their schooling. Our school is part of the Arts Schools Network because it allows us to connect with other schools across the nation that also value arts education. These schools enable Idaho Arts Charter to grow as they share their best practices and new ideas. I serve on the Arts School Network Board of Directors to help continue to strengthen our voice as arts educators and to bring the experience of a K-12 arts based school to the mix. Representing a school of the arts at a liberal arts college with a strong commitment to conservatory-level training, we at the College of Charleston are always in search of talented arts students who might be seeking a broad liberal arts experience in addition to excelling in their particular art form.
