“I want to take the time to get to know my pieces, and ensure that all I learn gets the attention that it requires. It is my way of paying respect to the composers that devoted their lives to composing these works, and the…singers who have performed them with as much time and effort as they could afford to give.”

Lewis, who is a baritone, performed Ombra Mai Fu (17th or 18th Century Aria), Roadside Fire (English-Written Aria), In Der Fremde (Non-English-Written Aria), and Nina (Selection of His Choice).

“The themes and meanings are there, in no uncertain terms, if you are willing to dig a little, but you shouldn’t have to. I believe poetry should breathe off the page. It should make you breathe a little differently; it should be able to soften your chest without fifty re-readings.”

“The dance floor is a door that locks out the negative trials of every day life. Melody is a simple switch that allows me to turn off reality and uncover shelter within myself. Movement becomes an avenue to release emotions. Technique is second nature after years of memorization. These elements of dance have become an outlet where I can surrender myself, and escape from the realities of life… Dance is my haven.”

Madelyn won for her required performances in demonstrating Ballet Technique and Modern Dance Technique, and for her Ballet Solo and Modern Dance Solo.

…although the different elements of a film, such as the story, cinematography, and editing are important, the only thing people remember in the long run is how a film made them feel. I hope to make films that are memorable not because of their plots or the way they were shot, but because of how they made viewers feel.”
